■ Open innovation achievements recognized, including five global license-out deals and the sale of technology assets
■ Expanding joint research based on in-house AI platform... Strengthening Korea's bio R&D competitiveness
Voronoi (310210), a targeted therapy development company, announced on the 9th that it received the Korea Health Industry Development Institute President's Commendation at the '2026 Awards for Distinguished Contribution to Promoting Global Open Innovation in Biohealth.'
The awards, organized by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, are presented to institutions and individuals that have contributed to invigorating the open innovation ecosystem in the biohealth field through technology cooperation, joint research, and technology commercialization via global partnerships.
Through open innovation with global pharmaceutical and biotech companies, Voronoi has completed a total of five license-out deals with global companies including ORIC Pharmaceuticals, and has generated technology commercialization achievements in various forms, including the sale of technology assets to Anvia. In addition, by leveraging its in-house AI drug discovery platform to expand joint research with domestic and overseas companies and research institutions and to strengthen its AI-based R&D capabilities in the discovery and development of drug candidates, the company is also contributing to enhancing the new drug development competitiveness of Korea's bio industry.
At the same time, Voronoi's global clinical development of its key pipeline programs is also proceeding smoothly. In particular, VRN11, its next-generation EGFR targeted therapy, is currently in a global Phase 1b/2 clinical trial, and its IND (clinical trial plan) including treatment-naïve non-small cell lung cancer patients has been approved in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and elsewhere. The company is now launching its global clinical development in earnest, proceeding with follow-on clinical procedures such as patient enrollment in each country.
Going forward, Voronoi plans to expand joint research and global partnerships that leverage its AI-based drug discovery platform, while continuing the global clinical development of its pipeline programs to enhance the global competitiveness of its drug development technology.
A Voronoi representative said, "This award recognizes our efforts to contribute to strengthening Korea's bio R&D competitiveness not only through license-out deals with global companies but also through AI-based joint research. We will continue to expand both global partnerships and our own drug development to develop innovative new drugs and to continue the global commercialization of Korean bio technology."
